My interest in conflict and development started very early and has propelled me to the hills of Wales, the jungles of Costa Rica, the inner cities of Colombia, rural communities of Mexico, and the streets of the United States. I aspire to continue feeding my hunger for knowledge while creating bridges between populations at odds through participatory forms of research design. Exhaustion creeps in after spending Semana Santa in Santigo Atitlan studying the local rituals, a combination of Maya traditions and Catholic practices that have melded into a sleepless five day rite unlike anything I'd ever seen. This is the latest stop on my search for understanding how various groups are expressing themselves in pursuit of greater autonomy and control.
